Weddings

A Church wedding adds a spiritual dimension to a marriage by providing an expression of worship, reflecting joy, celebration, community and love.  For such a special day, St. Mary’s offers a beautiful and friendly atmosphere, worshipful ethos, a talented organist, and an excellent peal of 10 bells. All this helps to provide a beautiful setting for a memorable wedding service.  We would love to make it possible for you to mark and celebrate your special day in St. Mary’s, or one of the other benefice churches.  To discuss your wedding requirements, please get in touch with your contact details here.

Baptisms

Baptism is a happy and special event and usually provides an opportunity for all the family, relatives and friends to come together.  It is also an occasion to thank God for the new life that has been given.  It is a time when we remember that as well as being a member of a human family your baby is a part of God’s family too, the family of the Church.  Baptism is an outward and visible sign of God’s love for your child.  We are pleased to be able to share it with you.

We seek to make your baby’s baptism a wonderful, memorable occasion, and hope that it will mark the beginning of a long and happy association with our church.  Baptisms take place during the morning service.  To discuss arranging a baptism, please get in touch with your contact details here.

If you are an adult who was not baptised as a child, then we hope that baptism may be something which you might like to consider for yourself.

Funerals

The time after a bereavement can be quite confusing, with many decisions to make on top of all the emotional turmoil that accompanies the loss of a loved one.  We seek to support you through this and help you with all the arrangements for the service.  The Churchyard is still open for burials, but is almost full and can more easily accommodate the burial of ashes.
